Chris Turnbull Angling Artist.

I have known Chris for some time now after meeting him for the first time at SACG/SAA committee meetings then subsequently after that at a Barbel Catchers Club AGM when he gave his talk on River Restoration.  Since then we have fished together on the river Trent and have become friends.  Chris Turnbull Angling Artist.

Chris is an all round angler as well as being an artist, writer and conservationist.  He has been an instrumental driving force in the Norfolk Anglers Conservation Association since its conception.

Here’s a few words from Chris taken from his website;

“Hi! I’m Chris Turnbull, angler, artist and author. Welcome to my website. You may know me from various books and magazines that I have written or contributed to and have seen some of my illustration artwork, paintings and prints.

My cover artwork fronts many well-known angling books, some of which have become angling classics. These include many of those written by John Bailey during the 1980’s and 90’s, such as ‘In Visible Waters’ and ‘Roach: The Gentle Giant’. Other books featuring my artwork include ‘Tales Of A Coarse Angler’ by Dave Plummer, ‘Richie On Carp’ by Richie MacDonald, ‘The Anglers Guide To Freshwater Fish’ by John Wilson, ‘Mammoth Pike’ by Neville Fickling and ‘Mega Pike: The Return” by Eddie Turner and Jason Davis. Alongside this my artwork has been published in numerous wildlife magazines and books. Today my work consists mainly of creating paintings to reproduce as limited edition prints.

As a writer I have contributed to various angling magazines over the years and have also written contributions to various books. Alongside this I have also produced four well-received books of my own namely ‘Big Fish From Famous Waters’ published by David & Charles in 1990, ‘Success With Big Tench’ by David & Charles in 1992 and ‘Time For Tench’ published by Harnser Books in 2004. My latest book, entitled ‘Reflections: Highlights from An Angling Life’ was published by Harper Books in May 2011. Lavishly illustrated by me throughout, many of the paintings included in this book are now available as prints which can be ordered via this website.”

Chris’s paintings and limited edition prints are highly collectible and his style is instantly recognisable from other artists.  Chris is also available for commissioned work as well.
